What did you like?

I liked everything about YFP!!
The staff are very educated, they work extremely hard (many overtime hours!!!) and because of this, they do a great job. I was very much impressed about their motive force and the energy they have concerning their work.
The Cambodian staff are extremely nice and show the Internationals many aspects of Cambodian culture. If I was able to understand anything about their country and society, it’s because of them.
The team work between Cambodians and Internationals was quite enriching because we had different skills that we were able to interchange. I really learned how good team work functions from the Cambodian staff. For this, I would always come back to YFP.
Your impression?
YFP works very hard on educating intelligent and active Cambodian youth. I think the do a great job and help to create a new generation of Cambodians who are able to live with a free spirit and mind.
What did you learn?

During my internship at YFP I learned a lot about memory culture. It was very important for me to attend the YFP workshops about the Khmer Rouge past and see how the youth and the old people work on a collective memory culture - but also share their individual memories of the Pol Pot regime. While discussing with the well-informed YFP staff, I was able to understand many cross-social developments concerning memory culture in Cambodia.
And of course, staying in Cambodia has thought me about life and it’s meaning.
